Final exam
HTML Resume Deluxe
For your final exam in English 304, I would like you to make a really great web resume. You may have done such a thing in English 303, but now I want you to make one that incorporates (almost) everything you've learned about HTML5 and CSS. Your resume should reflect the kind of person you are and the kind of job you want—playful, corporate, artsy, etc.
Writing
- The resume should be well written and should reflect your design, coding, writing, and editing skills--especially those you've learned in this class.
- It should be a functional resume—that is, it should emphasize real-world experience you've gained in class, skills, achievements, and extra-curricular work. It should not emphasize menial, food-service type jobs, though it can mention them.
- Edit your resume according to principles in the "Yahoo Style Guide."
- Link to a portfolio of examples of your coding and web writing from this class, including the group site.
Code
- Use ids and classes to identify job titles, employers, skills, software, classes, awards, and publications/ presentations.
- Use divisions, subheadings, and lists to organize your resume.
- Put the resume in a container div that is 940 px wide.
Style
- Use this resume to show off what youv'e learned. At the minimum, the resume should have two main columns and perhaps boxes or sub-columns inside them (use floating and positioning).
- Use backgrounds and graphics.
- Try to show off fancy features (transitions, mousover effects, javascripts, proprietary fonts, menu effects, Facebook references).
The resume is due Monday at 5 PM (Final's day).
