All my classes

This course will give us some knowledge of the world of non-Shakespearean Renaissance drama, the culture that created it, and the theoretical approaches we use to understand it today.

Because our class is very small, the commitment of all of us to attend class every session is essential (one absence would be equivalent to two weeks of class in a regular semester).

Many of the background readings for this course will be available on Blackboard. We will read two plays a night; in addition, each student will present one assigned article to the rest of the class each evening. The goal is to present a useful oveview so other students will feel as though they have read it.

I will base your grade on these overviews, your participation, and a final exam.
