- One of the characters DTC meets here is Ulysses. Discuss how he (and Virgil) interact with this character. How is he different from the character you met in Homer? in Virgil? How do you account for these differences?
- This section has some of the most gruesome examples of contrepasso. Describe one, quoting from the text to illustrate. Explain the contrepasso.
- Why do you think sins like counterfeiting and false rhetoric are worse, for Dante, than violent sins like murdering or pimping? Give an example of a person in this section and do some research on them. Then suggest an analogous person in today's world.
